In 2013 Hopton created an installation featuring her signature vegetable prints and a new wall painting for the Imaging Department at The Royal London Hospital. Using cut vegetables from her garden to stamp directly onto the walls, Hopton delights in the elemental tactile qualities of viscous glossy paint, to create delicate compositions that are both elegant and playful. In relation to her installation at The Royal London Hopton has created this unique silkscreen print exclusive to Vital Arts.
Georgie Hopton was shortlisted for the Sovereign Art Prize in 2011 and nominated for the Max Mara prize in 2007. She has shown her work at Barbara Gladstone Gallery, NY; South London Gallery; Cabinet Gallery, London; Milton Keynes Gallery; Kate MacGarry Gallery, London; Spike island, Bristol; Monika Spruth-Philomena Magers Gallery, Cologne; Poppy Sebire Gallery, London. Her work is held in several permanent collections including the Arts Council Collection.
