Bereavement Room
Royal London Hospital
This series of works on paper were commissioned for the Maternity Bereavement Room at Royal London Hospital. This room is a private, dedicated space within the hospital that offers a comforting environment for parents experience the loss of a baby.
For this sensitive area, Bridget Garrett painted delicate watercolours of flowers and foliage that might be found in London. By offering glimpses of beauty in the familiar, the artwork invites bereaved families to think about the fragile of life and the poetry that lays latent in our everyday surroundings.
