Jo Knox is Arts Participation Manager at Vital Arts, the Creative Health team within Barts Health NHS Trust. She works to make access to art and culture part of the experience of being in hospital, creating opportunities for patients, families and staff to encounter, participate in and connect with the arts across five east London hospitals.

Jo develops partnerships between the NHS, artists, cultural organisations and local communities, bringing high-quality creative activity into healthcare settings and creating pathways that connect hospital experiences with the cultural life of the communities Barts Health serves. Her current work spans music, visual arts, dance, heritage and interdisciplinary Creative Health projects, working closely with clinical teams, patients and community partners to develop and evaluate new approaches.

Jo also started and chairs Barts Trust's Creative Health Staff Interest Group and contributes to the Trust’s patient experience work. She has more than a decade of experience in museum and gallery engagement, having previously worked with organisations including Royal Museums Greenwich, the V&A and the Royal Academy. She holds an MA in Museums and Galleries in Education from UCL.
