Lauren Keeley

Peace Lillies, 2018

Screenprinted wood
Family Consultation Rooms, Barts and Royal London Hospitals

For her first commission for a hospital, Lauren Keeley created a series of elegant works for Quiet Rooms at both Barts and the Royal London Hospital. Entitled Peace Lilies, these wooden reliefs are screen printed, in muted tones, offering an oasis of calm. The works present views from domestic interiors intended to bring a sense of familiarity and comfort to patients and relatives.

Keeley’s practice is concerned with representation and image making. After gaining her MFA at the Slade School of Fine Art, London, she has exhibited widely including Åplus, Berlin, 2020; Frutta, Rome, 2019; and Frieze Art Fair, 2018.

The works at Barts Hospital were kindly funded by Barts Guild. Those at the Royal London Hospital were commissioned with funds raised by the ACCU team.
