Risograph prints
1st floor corridor, Newham Hospital

Vital Arts commissioned Rabbits Road Press (RRP), a community and education-focused Risograph printing studio in The Old Manor Park Library, to produce a group of artworks for a stretch of the main hospital corridor.

The collective of artists based at RRP explored the theme of plants. Plants that are nurtured thrive, and this reflects how the collective thinks and feels about their art, work, and friendships at RRP. Each artist interpreted the plant theme differently, with further information on each work provided in the labels that accompany them. A diverse group of artworks, they are unified through their medium. Risograph printing is a rapid and low-cost photocopier printing technique that is popularly used to produce posters, flyers, pamphlets and small books.

Rabbits Road Press (RRP) was established in 2016 by One of My Kind (OOMK). Employing environmentally friendly inks, the press provides Riso printing services to artists, and delivers creative workshops to the public. RRP runs a programme of workshops and events, bringing together artists, designers, writers and local people. The press provides an opportunity to learn about Riso printing and a space in which to work on creative projects. OOMK is a collaborative publishing practice led by Rose Nordin, Sofia Niazi and Heiba Lamara. With a focus on design education, OOMK works with London College of Fashion, South London Gallery, Kingston University, RCA, Maslaha, Magpie Project, Headway, Sandringham School.
