STAFF AND PATIENT PARTICIPATION

The Upper Limb Occupational Therapy Department has been host to an artist in residence project that has created a lively and inspiring treatment environment and is developing new ways of delivering hand rehabilitation.

Artists Russell Bamber, Murade Leong and Tom Hammick have brought creativity to the heart of the department, improving the physical environment, transforming a derelict courtyard into a garden and introducing art as an integral part of patient rehabilitation.

“Pottery has been a success in a variety of ways, (particularly in) trying to look at the whole person and allow the person to have a say in therapy and a sense of ownership"
