Recent findings indicate that environmental factors affect patient well-being and recovery rates and research regarding sensory deprivation/stimulation suggests that patients and visitors need visual stimuli or positive distractions to alleviate the stress involved in waiting or receiving treatment in a hospital environment.

Vital Arts uses the visual arts in a number of ways in order to address these findings. As well as specific projects, we manage a permanent collection of about 500 pieces and regularly commission new work to add to this wonderful resource.
