Blue Hour 5, from the series Between Dog and Wolf, 2003 - 2006
C type print

Following consultation with clinical staff, Vital Arts commissioned illustration collective Peepshow to create a bold and colourful alternative landscape to give the new Retinoblastoma Unit a distinctive identity. Fascinating and delighting patients and their families, it provides a playful distraction for visitors. The scheme also included the kind donation of Blue Hour 7 2006 , by acclaimed photographer Chrystel Lebas for the counselling room. The art scheme for the Retinoblastoma Unit would not have been possible without the support of the Barts and the London Charity and the CHECT (Childhood Eye Cancer Trust).

A print from this scheme is available to buy from our shop with 33% of proceeds going to CHECT.

‘the art commission has been nothing but beneficial and has made a massive difference.’
